Meal Program

Help families spend less time cooking and more time together.

Bring your home-cooked meals to our House.

Families shouldn’t have to worry about where their next meal will come from while they are caring for their hospitalized children. Whether you cater or cook a meal, you are giving Ronald McDonald House families the comfort of a warm, home-cooked meal that makes them feel like they are home.

Cook a comforting meal

Families staying at a Ronald McDonald House spend long hours caring for their children at an area hospital. Through our Meals that Heal program, volunteers cook meals at the Ronald McDonald House for families, allowing them to spend more time together, without the stress of cooking or the expense of dining out.

Helpful tips as you plan your meal:

  • Maximum of 8 volunteers per group. If you have a large group, consider signing up for multiple days or coming once a month.
  • All food preparation and cooking must be done on RMHC property or in a commercially licensed kitchen in order for us to comply with health and safety regulations.
  • We recommend contacting the House the day prior to your scheduled date to get an estimate of how many guests are staying at the House.
  • Store-bought items must be in original, unopened packaging.
  • Anyone 18 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All student groups must have at least 1 adult supervisor at all times.

Meal Calendar

You’ve decided what’s on the menu. Now it’s time to pick what day you will prepare your meal. Please view the calendar below to view available dates.

Every date marked “BUSY” has already been reserved for a meal group.

Grab-and-Go Snacks

One thing families love while staying at a Ronald McDonald House is not having to worry about spending money on vending machine snacks or ordering delivery while caring for their children at an area hospital. Volunteer-created grab-and-go bags provide families with a satisfying meal after long hours of tests and treatments.

This is a great way for groups of any size to be involved! Snack bags can be assembled off-site or at the Ronald McDonald House – whatever works best for your group!
