When you picked up a Shamrock Shake this spring, you were doing more than enjoying a sweet seasonal treat, you were helping families stay close while their child received life-saving medical care far from home.
Our “founding and forever mission partner” McDonald’s donated $8,995 to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern West Virginia during this year’s Shamrock Shake promotions. For every Shamrock Shake sold at participating McDonald’s restaurants between February 10 and March 23, 25 cents was donated to support our Ronald McDonald House families so they could stay close to their children receiving medical care at a local hospital.
This donation helps cover the cost of 71 nights of rest for families so they can remain close to their child’s hospital bed without having to worry about paying for lodging. Thanks to our community and the generosity of our mission partner, McDonald’s, that loose change is adding up to make a big difference for families facing serious childhood illness or injury.
