McDonalds-and-RMHC

Our Partnerships

The people who have helped make our House “home” since the beginning.

McDonald’s

Our founding mission partner has helped families remain close to their sick children since the opening of the first Ronald McDonald House in 1974. From the moment RMHC opened its doors, McDonald’s franchisees, suppliers, employees, and customers have helped RMHC through monetary contributions, volunteering, and cause-related marketing.

We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, but McDonald’s is our largest corporate donor. A portion of the annual operating costs for the RMHC of Southern West Virginia is graciously funded by McDonald’s and Owner/Operators of local McDonald’s restaurants. The remainder of our annual operating income comes from the generosity of individual and corporate donors.

Donation Box Program

McDonald’s customers support RMHC through a variety of fundraising events and programs, including donations in RMHC Donation Boxes found in restaurants throughout West Virginia, Southeast Ohio, and Eastern Kentucky.

Round-Up for RMHC

Next time you visit McDonald’s, donate your spare change by rounding up your order to the nearest dollar! Every cent donated at a local McDonald’s goes directly to RMHC of Southern West Virginia, which helps provide the comforts of home to families traveling to the Charleston area be near their sick children at an area hospital.

Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC)

Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) is a critical mission partner of RMHC of Southern West Virginia, and we are extremely proud to support their efforts to provide excellent healthcare to children in West Virginia and beyond. Our partnership, which has continued for more than three decades, grows stronger each year.

Each year more than 3,000 babies are born at CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital, many of which are high-risk births.

CAMC Women and Children’s Hospital is home to the region’s largest and busiest Level IV (highest level) neonatal intensive care unit and Level I (highest level) pediatric intensive care unit.

As an integral partner, CAMC has made in-kind and cash donations to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. These donations include:

  • Housekeeping services to ensure our facility is clean for every guest family.
  • Linen services including bedding, blankets, towels, and washcloths for every house guest.
